The Good Guys (or gals)

Texas Monthly just did the coolest writeup on Texas brands that "give back to the communities they serve" and GAIA was one of them!

They specifically featured our Utility Pouches, which got their name from the indestructible, un-stainable Perennials® fabrics they're made from. Life is messy. You need one of these. Choose from one of our cute standard phrases, or personalize one to stake your claim or to give as a gift!

Be sure to check out the other Texas-based companies on this list for super cool products that have Texas-sized hearts.

DFW Child knows GAIA's got Kids Covered!

DFW Child had some good questions for our fearless leader Paula Minnis in their most recent writeup about GAIA! Our favorite? "In your opinion how can the community rally behind theses refugees and become a spokesperson for them in some way?" YAAAASSSSS! That's what the GAIA family is all about! Support + love + encouragement. (And really cute things to purchase that provide really meaningful employment. Duh.)

Shopping for littles? You can still make a BIG impact! Shop from our Little's Collections to give a lotta love:

Mini Purses | Bib + Bootie Sets | Diaper Pouches | Kid's Jewelry | Hair Ties

#frostitforward

You guys. This is cool. In the cold, hard, cash-driven world of banking, Frost Bank – contrary to its name – is melting our hearts. They've created a campaign they're calling Opt for Optimism with the hashtag #frostitforward which encourages small acts of kindness in the community, and doles out $100 gift cards to deserving nonprofits. GAIA was given a $100 gift card to #frostitfoward to the charity of our choice, and we chose Heart House, an organization here in Dallas that focuses on bringing refugee children "from harm to home." With the school year already in full-swing, school supplies were needed at Heart House, so we knew they could use the extra cash!

BIG thanks to Frost Bank for not only donating the dough, but for creating this platform for positivity.

Check out the Culture Map write up & video here!

Love & Glitter

No, it's not Valentine's Day, but love is certainly in the air (like, actually, via the electromagnetic waves of the internet) with this Glitter Guide article that is giving us lots of love: get ready for a thoughtful, in-depth look at our new space & what it means to us, as well as how we got here & our hopes for GAIA's future. (Plus lots of pretty pics!)

Our favorite part about this article & what makes it unique from other features we've received is Glitter Guide's focus on our mission beyond just what we're doing... they asked us how others can help support refugees too, so cool! Check out the bottom of the interview for our refugee volunteer recs. Spoiler alert: shopping with us counts as helping refugees!

Our favorite question from the interview??

"What does a typical day look like at GAIA?"

LOLZZZZ

Come see for yourself! If you haven't yet visited us at our new location, stop on by! 2417 Mahon St. You're officially invited. Kiddos welcome too! Our pink door is open Tuesday – Friday 10 – 4

Home, Sweet Home!

Honey, we're home!

We are THRILLED to announce that the GAIA House is the new "Happiest Place on Earth!" Or at least in Dallas... Shop ethically made goods, shop locally made goods, shop women-empowering goods, give a warm in-person welcome to some of Dallas' finest resettled refugee women, help employ those women with your purchase of some GAIA goodies they've made, score some free gift wrap for said goodies, eat some jelly beans... it's basically heaven in there!

Don't believe us? Just ask D Magazine who recently displayed our new digs on their site after featuring our plans to move in their printed publication earlier this summer. Since then, shelves have been stocked, and our pink door & smiling faces are ready to welcome everyone. Yes, everyone.

Come visit us at 2417 Mahon Street, Tuesday – Friday, 10am – 4pm.

You can even use code PICKUP when checking out online to skip shipping & pick up in store instead!

Like we said, heaven.

O, baby!

Our Ring Tote + Tiered Tassel made an appearance in May's O Magazine thanks to the magazine's creative director, Adam Glassman! Adam's "Style Sheet" featured looks for Summer venues, and we were included in the "Farmers Market" outfit! Love that! Our GAIA goodies were paired with the cutest dress from Rhode Resort... get you some GAIA & hit up your local farmers market this weekend! We're all about shopping small & shopping local... and sometimes shopping Zara. It's called balance. (Special shoutout to that super cute Zara dress above!😍)

the force for good that is Bothina

We're not worthy! Bothina is our Refugee Artisan Coordinator & Trainer, and – if you couldn't already tell – A LEGITIMATE GIRL BOSS.

It's safe to say GAIA's rapid growth can be directly correlated to Bothina's presence on our team – she encourages & empowers her fellow refugee women, continuing & reinforcing GAIA's ethos, and constantly thinks on both a macro & micro level as it relates to GAIA as a business.

Read this special feature courtesy of the IRC, and prepare to be in awe.

Our Queen on One Kings Lane!

If you know anything about our leading lady, you know she has incredible style. You can see it on the shelves (virtual or otherwise) of GAIA, and now, thanks to One Kings Lane, you can catch a glimpse of her creative genius manifested at home!

Paula talks about "her style, her life, and her ethical approach to business" in this One Kings Lane feature, but let's be real – the best part is that there are LOTS of pictures!! Get that pinning finger ready!

Ok fine, the other best part is that GAIA exists for the sole purpose of Empowering Women, and it just so happens that the way we do that is by creating really awesome home & personal accessories. Check out One Kings Lane's faves here!
